The region

The countryside in the Mullerthal region, known as Luxemburg's Little Switzerland, is a paradise for hikers. The Mullerthal Trail consists of more than 100 km of walking trails and takes you through ancient forests, past waterfalls and the most amazing rock formations. Relaxing cycle paths or canoeing on the Sûre ensures you have a large range of options to explore.

In Echternach, the Basilica, the Benedictine Abbey of St. Willibrord, the various museums and the Roman villa allow you to take an interesting tour through the areas history. Echternach is also a lovely town to shop, including Sundays.

The Moselle valley is located short drive away (15mins). Its wine and assortment of wine cellars, the exotic world of the butterfly garden in Grevenmacher, the aquarium in Wasserbillig, hiking paths in the vineyards or a trip on the luxury passenger boat "MS Princess Marie-Astrid" are some of the many highlights of the region.

Luxemburg, the capital city, is 25mins drive. Here you will find many curiosities including the vestiges of its ancient fortress (a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site), enjoyable cafes and restaurants and plenty of sites for all tastes.
